Suzanne was born in the United States and raised overseas, attending the American School in London, Colegio Nueva Granada (Bogota, Colombia) and graduating in 1982 from the International School of Kenya. She attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1987 with degrees in Accounting and Hotel & Restaurant Administration, and received her CPA in 1992. She worked in accounting and finance for Memorex Telex Corporation for 8 years, relocating to Dallas with them in 1991. Suzanne is married James (Jay) Lipscomb and has worked as Controller for the Lipscomb Insurance Group, Inc. from 1995 to present.
